Got an LP from e-bay the other week. Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated first LP, original pressing ACL 1130 from 1962
Bought it coz it has Alexis signature on it.
For me this is one of the ultimate British Rock History items I could have in my collection. The LP is recorded in the spring of 1962, just about the time when Charlie, Brian, Keith and Mick were sitting in on stage every now and then. This is the band and the man who started the British R&B, that ended up forming the music as we know it today. I put Alexis on par with any other musician in the 60's who contributed to the development of Rhythm and Blues
I am trying to find out when this LP could have been signed. I have been trying to find some information on various configurations of Blues Incorporated, but as we know, Alexis changed the line up all the time.
Herbie Flowers on bass is at least on the Bootleg Him LP from 1972 Ray Warleigh on sax is on at least three different LP's issued in between 1967 and 1972 Ronnie Dunn on drums has apparently not been on any of the recordings that I have found. He is mentioned on one Internet page as being part of the band in late 1962 or 1963.
But as three out of four names has been there in 1972, I am leaning against a signing date around 1972. If that is the case, then Ronnie Dunn did play again with Alexis around that time.
Anybody here has better knowledge of Alexis Korners Blues Incorporated and the history / line up of the band.
