Hi, today I've got my box LP's GRRR. 5 LP's , a box with 5 LP's. Inside 5 LP's ,each in a black sleeve, red inner, red label with 'The Rolling Stones GRRR' mentioned nr 1,2,3,4,5, that's it. Miserable issue for the money. Kapel,
Got my LP box today as well, I´m trying to but I find it hard to get used to the gorilla. The box itself is nice but the book inside is not that much to have. No pictures of Brian Jones or Ian Stewart, these two are only very briefly mentioned in the foreword. Plus there are two pictures of Ian`s diary from Nov 6, 1961 mention Brian`s and Mick`s addresses. This is all I`m going to buy of the GRRRR stuff.
I need to get the vinylbox as well, coz being a completest I need to have everything official on vinyl. But I will wait a bit so that I can get the box at a good discounted price. Bought the full size CD box at full price...
By the way, I did a funny thing the other day that you should try.
I opened up the 10" Gloom vinyl to play it once. There is no mentioning of the speed on the item. Should I play it on 33 rpm or 45 rpm? Well, my turntable needs a bit of work to get the speed changed. I have to lift the disc plate and then change position on the driving belt, so it needs a bit of an effort to do it. So, I just put on the vinyl at 33 rpm.
Woow, what a heavy slow blues comes from the loudspeakers Really heavy guitar stuff. NICE. The singing is naturally a bit off, but not too bad either as Jagger has a kind of nasal voice on the correct speed.
