...It would be interesting to see if the other box sets made in their respective countries show any differences. Did any other countries like France, produce it. ...
Yes , FRANCE for once, was the first country to release the Box in 1976. It came originally with 5 Lp's and a Shirt. The box is known as "The Glitter Box". You could easily see the box from time to time on EBAY, but without the shirt. It's extremely hard now to catch one box with the Shirt. Here's mine

Good stuff you guys. Whiskey I have done a bit of research and sent a few emails off and I think we might have the aussie boxset and the RS3006 LP sorted. Waiting for a couple of replies. Will post asap. Can you tell me did you buy any of your boxsets new at the time and what colour label .Or anyone else that can help. We need confirmed purchases of either the single LP or boxset at the time of release either in Australia or overseas with confirmation of the label colour.
I bought my first boxset new and it was blue, I bought my first LTD edition singular next and it was red label, but was told much later it came from a boxset. So I then bought a red label boxset a lot later and it was not new. But red allways came before blue, except with TSMR and Big Hits which were black. I was once told that they saw a mauve label on the LTD edition, but if you hold a blue in the right kind of light it can appear a slight mauve. Could that be possibly Kiwi. If anyone can come up with the info Stonedkoala its you. Cant wait for your next post on this. I can only dream of haveing contacts like you guys. I am sure I bought the blue at time of first release?

Thanks guys , keep the info coming. We will get hopefully to the bottom of this one. Great sticker Dartford . Just what I was looking for but I thought it was going to be on a blue label !! Whiskey can you remember the year you bought your new red label boxset . Thanks
Stonedkoala, I bought my all blue set in the 70s, the red LTD in the early 80s(this red label came from a box that the retailer must have broken up). I bought my all red box set only about 7 or 8 years ago. I have since bought another all red box to upgrade my all red to NM. Years ago I never paid much attention as I do now to remember dates of purchase, all I cared about was the Band. Another thing to bring up is when I bought my first all blue set, the box has the sticker("The Rolling Stones 1963-1970).Other boxes do not. This is all the info I can come up with, cant wait to get to the bottom of all this. My main concern at this point is, are we devoting too much space to a ltd edition on a promotional page. Last thing I want to do is upset StonesVikings board.
Thanks Jan, I can rest easy now lol. Really looking forward to solving the riddle of this issue. The points that have now been raised over this, has reignited my thirst for search. How lucky we Stones fans are that sites like this exist.
