Yeah, Dartford, I knew that, one could see the box from time to time on the Bay around 100 €, the first one with the red label is really expensive IMO, seen it between 200 & 450 €, I'm suspicious about that price, but I could be wrong. Got my copy for 30 € think the guy didn't knew it was the first pressing, my good luck. By the way, I don't have that much information about these Aussie releases, how many were pressed, does someone know, either the red label, either the blue label with the 6LP box ? It isn't mentionned anywhere, but maybe I need to check once again!

The 315 on the spine I believe is some sort of Australian Decca Boxset numbering system .It appears on even classical boxsets. 265 , 472 etc . Are you guys sure about your info on the boxset RSB-1 . There is alot of conflicting stories. My understanding is the single RS3006 Limited Collectors LP was originally pressed on Blue label and was also exported to places like the UK to meet collectors demand. It was also included in the RSB-1 blue label boxset . At the same time the identical red/Brown label edition was pressed mainly for the New Zealand markets and the mail order companies .World record club and others simply put their own sticker on the cover , The Red labels you see are I believe from broken up boxsets (trust me our 2nd hand record store bins are full of the unwanted purple cover LP's) In the end I think EMI had so much stock the boxsets both blue and Red/brown were still available new in retail stores out here even until the late 80"S . I purchased a boxset with red labels new at that time. Still regarded in Australia as a relatively common pressing, with slower demand world prices I think have come down in the last couple of years as is with Pascal's recent fine purchase. We all still cringe though when a RS3006 Collectors LP is passed off as a Decca Uk RSD-1 to an unsuspecting buyer !!! Hope info is of help.
On page one of this thread december 2009 I posted what info I was able to glean about this boxset. I believed that this time I got the correct info and didnt bother to follow through to verify. After the info that Stonedkoala has brought forward I will do some more checking. I will hate it if I am wrong again.
Great info thanks Stonedkoala and Whiskey (I didn't recall the first page my mistake ) Should be interesting to know if there's some variation between the NZ edition (IE the sleeve, the matrix #),and the aussie one.
I just checked both the red label and the blue label and the deadwax and no difference can I find between the two except the deadwax # is pressed diferently on the same disc. side 1 RS 30.006 A side 2 RS . 30 . 006 B. Also no differences between red or blue on the 5 volumes in the black box. Both box sets and contents are made in Australia (RSB 1) It would be interesting to see if the other box sets made in their respective countries show any differences. Did any other countries like France, produce it. I recall some months back seeing on Ebay an Australian box set for sale with a T shirt. but that maybe someone just putting it together for sale. I certainly did not get a T with mine and never heard of that before. Maybe Stonedkoala can help out here.
