I had always heard that Charlie practically said, this is it after the 2007 shows. Personally, I thought the band should have ended touring after the LICKS tour, because frankly, they would have gone out on a high note of strong performances. Not to say that the BB tour did not have some great moments, but it seemed that so many were disappointed in either the set lists, lack of variety of songs, or the fact that many nights simply were not the Stones' night.
Frankly and candidly, having compared a cross-section of the 05-07 shows with the hundreds of others I have in my collection, I cannot put a single show from BB tour in the same league as their best stuff. Whereas in LICKS, there were shows like Aragon, Pac Bell II, Nashville, and some others which I could put in the league with the best of the earlier stuff, this BB tour was the first that one was lucky to get a spectacular "run" of 4-5 songs as opposed to an entire show that blew one's mind. This is NOT to say the Stones were horrible (though the Stones on a bad night are still better than most bands we'll ever see), but it is to say that there seemed to be many shows that smelled of being "dialed-in."
I base my comparisons on the recordings and listening to so many.
Finally, I also wonder if the Stones have made themselves too accessible.
All in all, I would just as soon choose for them to call it a day from touring and maybe do a few spot shows now and again, because then we'd get all the heart and soul a Stones' show requires.

I pretty much agree with Stonesstein says here. I got nine shows on ABB tour in total and I have to say that the quality was not the same as it used to be. They should scale it down somehow. I enjoyed the arens shows much more than the stadium shows.

Based on all rumors I would be guessing the future like this:
Asian tour will kick off in February with shows in: Dubai India Singapore HongKong
The asian tour will be mostly stadiums. This tour has been planned for a long time already and the stage design is going on. Tour will be announced in January 2008.
Then in April / May they will kick off the "Shine A Light" Tour in North America. This will mostly be an arena tour. It will on the same time promote the movie that will run on theatres all over US in the spring.
No Europe in 2008......
Maybe a quick run down to Argentina in the fall of 2008
Just speculating on September 6th 2007. Lets see half a year from now how far away I was
"Iron Maiden are all set to play a "mega concert" at the Universitario de Caracas Stadium in Venezuela, as part of the 2008 world tour. This is part of a series of Mega Shows that will take place at the Caracas, which also includes the Rolling Stones in March. Sources: El Observador"
From an interview with Mick in The Times Of India:
When will you do an India tour?
"We have some very good offers, but we want to do it as part of a tour of Asia. When we played in Bangalore and Mumbai, we didn’t play in Delhi and Kolkata. We would love to do that now, as there’s great demand. Hopefully, we will announce a big Asia tour soon, which might include Japan."

Now the Bigger Bang has come to an end. But we can expect more in the near future ! A good source has confirmed me that Mick Jagger will promote his forthcoming "Best of" album with some live work. The album is already on sale by now. Other great news is that Keith Richards will go on tour solo next year. Unfortunately it is not known if he will go on tour with the Expensive Winos. Blondie Chaplin told me that he would join Keith if he was asking him. It is said that Ronnie is planning an old history tour with the Faces.

Got this morning some more unconfirmed information from our German friends; Stones will play on/in: # 29.03 New York, # 31.03 Berlin, to promote the “Shine a light” - film. I think we need further investigation. Does anyone know anything about this? If anyone has more information, please tell us…!!! I hope and prefer a MSG show for selfish reasons but anything will do at this point…. I would do anything for a Stones gig now!
